Senthil Thondaman has been appointed as the new leader of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC).

That was when the Working Committee of the Ceylon Workers Congress met in Kottagala today to elect a leader for the party.

Sendil Thondaman previously served as the Vice President of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress.

Senthil Thondaman has been appointed as the new leader of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress following the death of Arumugam Thondaman.

After the death of Arumugam Thondaman in May 2020, the CWC had no leader.

Arumugam Thondaman, 55, who was the leader of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress since 1999, has died of a sudden heart attack.
