A suspect has been arrested with nearly 5 kilos of ice worth over Rs. 50 million which was smuggled from India by sea and hidden in a house in Talaimannar.
The suspect, a 27-year-old resident of Pesalai, was interrogated and it was revealed that the ice had been hidden in a boat ready to be taken to Colombo.
Police investigations have revealed that a large quantity of ice is being smuggled into the country through India.
