The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has paid more than Rs. 89 lakhs as compensation to the victims following special investigations in 2021.
The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment investigated complaints against 451 licensed foreign employment agencies and against 92 other unlicensed individuals in 2021.
In addition, the Special Investigation Unit of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment conducted four raids last year.
The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has commenced investigations into another 87 complaints this year.
