According to the All Ceylon Restaurant Owners’ Association, the price of a cup of milk tea will have to be increased to Rs. 100 under the current situation.
Its chairman, Asela Sampath, said serving milk tea in many restaurants had been suspended due to the increase in prices of ingredients.
He also said that due to the shortage of gas, power cuts and the increase in the price of wheat flour, restaurants have become unsustainable and in the verge of closing.
