The Small and Medium Scale Rice Mill Owners’ Association says that if the government does not take immediate action to impose a control price on rice, the price of a kilo of rice could rise to Rs. 200 in the next few weeks.

According to the union, this situation has arisen due to the government’s actions in favor of large-scale paddy mill owners and farmers.

Meanwhile, rice bag manufacturers have decided to increase the price of an empty rice sack by Rs. 35.
