Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Finance and the ministerial secretary Mr. S. R. Attygala left for India a short while ago.
According to political sources, the purpose of the visit is to sign an agreement on a loan of US $ 1.9 billion to purchase essential food items and medicines for the country.
Of that loan, $ 500 million will come as financially(money) and the remaining $ 1.4 billion will come in the form of goods.
