Samagi Janabalawegaya MP Harin Fernando alleges that the electricity bill of the government official residence in Colombo, which he used when he was the Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure, is still being issued in his name.
The letter also states that he had written to the Ceylon Electricity Board on the 28th to resolve this issue.
Minister Harin Fernando alleges that although his official residence was handed over to the Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Foreign Employment and Sports in 2019, when his term ended, bills are still issued for his name.
Presenting the relevant letter, MP Harin Fernando further stated,
“I have instructed my lawyers to take action against those who spread false news and insult me. I do not own any house in Colombo. I am not responsible for the bills of a government house I handed over in 2019. If the bills are not paid, the minister who is now residing in the house is responsible, ”he said.
