The Central Bank of Sri Lanka states that it is prohibited to sell or exchange foreign currency without the permission of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka requests the public to contact the Department of Foreign Affairs on 0112398827 or 0112477375 if they have any information regarding such unauthorized money exchanging people.
Buying, selling and exchanging foreign currency in Sri Lanka is permitted only for licensed banks and authorized money transfer agencies approved by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
