The Government Medical Officers’ Forum (GMOF) says that the severe shortage of gas in the market has heavily affected the hospital activities.

Its chairman Dr. Rukshan Bellana stated that due to this some laboratory tests are also being severely affected.

He also said that the provision of care services including food to patients is now becoming a crisis.

Generally, 37.5 kg large gas cylinders are used for hospital purposes.

However, Litro said that due to the shortage of gas, 37.5 kg gas cylinders had not been released since the 4th of this month.
