10 more schools to the national schools’ list

Ten more schools have been added to the list of national schools in Sri Lanka.

The move coincides with International Women’s Day.

The ten new national schools will be officially announced through Zoom tomorrow (08) at a ceremony to be held at Temple Trees under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

These schools have been added as part of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s national policy to establish 1000 national schools, the Ministry of Education said.

With this, the total number of national schools in Sri Lanka will increase to 495.

Accordingly, the 10 new national schools are Beliatta Puwakdandawa Dhammapala Girls ‘College, Bibila Yashodhara Girls’ College, Dompe Devi Girls ‘College, Kalmunai Mahmudda Girls’ College, Kekirawa Vidyartha Maha Vidyalaya, Kegalle Swarna Jayanthi Maha Vidyalaya, Hatton St. Gabriel Girls’ College, Point Pedro Methodist High Girls’ College, Dankotuwa Buddhist Girls ‘College, Walahanduwa President’s Girls’ College.
