Sri Lanka Bakery Owners’ Association states that the prices of wheat flour and margarine have been increased again.
Chairman of the association N. K. Jayawardena said that a leading distributor of wheat flour has increased the price of a kilogram of wheat flour by Rs. 3.
The owners of the bakery stated that due to the increase in the price of a kilo of wheat flour which was Rs. 127 before, the production of bread has been reduced upto 1.5 – 2 million.
Sri Lanka Bakery Owners’ Association further stated that the price of a kilogram of margarine has increased by Rs. 50 and the price of a kilogram of margarine has now exceeded Rs. 700.
