Former Mrs. Sri Lanka Pushpika de Silva is scheduled to appear before the Piliyandala Police this evening following a summons issued in connection with the investigation into the attack on the house of journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrema.
Mrs. Pushpika de Silva has informed that she will arrive at the Piliyandala Police Station at 3.00 pm today.
Ms. Pushpika de Silva was first summoned to appear before the Piliyandala Police on the 23rd. But, she did not appear on that day. Police were informed by her lawyers regarding the decision and promised that she would appear before the police on a convenient day.
A senior police official said that a statement was obtained from those involved in several controversial discussions held by Chamuditha Samarawickrema on his YouTube channel in connection with the investigation into the attack and for that Ms. Pushpika de Silva was summoned accordingly.
