Two persons were killed when a van traveling from Puttalam to Chilaw collided with two motorcycles in Arachchikattuwa.
The accident happened yesterday and two residents from Nallarankattuwa and Adippawa were died in this manner, police said.
Arachchikattuwa police stated that the van had been traveling at a high speed and had collided with a motorbike parked on the side of the road. The van then sped off and collided with an oncoming motorcycle.
Police stated that the motorcyclist and the rear rider were injured and died after at the hospital.
The victims were aged 51 and 59.
The driver of the van has been arrested and is due to be produced in court today.
