As many as 197 prisoners are to be released from prisons island-wide tomorrow on presidential pardon to mark the 74th Independence Day, a spokesman said.
These inmates are inmates from Mahara, Kegalle, Welikada, Kalutara, Bogambara, Batticaloa, Wariyapola prisons.
It is customary for the president to release prisoners on nationally important days.
