Sri Lankan security guard was shot to death in Qatar

A Sri Lankan man was shot dead while working as a security guard at an apartment complex in the Al-Waab area of ​​Doha on Wednesday.

It was reported that a man and a woman had arrived at the apartment complex and the Sri Lankan security officer had asked him for his identity card.

Witnesses said the security guard refused to let them in because they did not present their identity cards.

The suspect then shot the security guard and fled the scene.

The security guard’s colleague was also injured in the shooting.

Eyewitnesses say the shooter, who is said to be a Qatari national, has shot the guard more than once.

However, police were able to arrest the gunman almost immediately after the attack.

He has now been referred to the government prosecutor.

The deceased Sri Lankan bodyguard is a father of three.

He was scheduled to return to his home country as his contract expired.
