Satheesan’s song ‘Menike Maga Hithe’ sung by Sri Lankan newcomer Yohani de Silva, who soon became popular all over the world, has now invaded the Indian political movement.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is currently campaigning in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, has also used the song to boost the expectations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
A song has been composed from the Hindi version of the song ‘Menike ..’ for the party’s election campaign, using the names of Indian Prime Minister Modi and Yogi.
Uttar Pradesh, one of India’s largest states, will go to the elections on February 10. Voting ends on March 7.
The song has also been sung in the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Shiddhat’.
