Sri Lanka to receive US $ 2.15 million in the next two weeks

The first installment of the second compensation sought by the Sri Lankan government for the fire on the Express Pearl ship that caught fire off the coast of Sri Lanka will be received within the next two weeks, said the Chairperson of the Marine Environment Protection Authority, Attorney-at-Law Dharshani Lahandapura.

According to her, the compensation will be US $ 2.15 million.

Attorney-at-Law Darshani Lahandapura further stated that the recovery of container fragments and other materials that fell into the sea due to the fire has been completed by 70%.
