About 68 percent of the school uniform fabrics for this year have been issued to the Zonal Office, said Piyal Nishantha, Minister of State for Education Services.
The rest of the fabrics will be released to the zonal offices before the 31st of this month, he said.
He added that 12,694,000 meters of school uniforms are required this year.
Minister of State Piyal Nishantha said that uniforms, school books, and vouchers have been provided to all school children even though no schools have been held for the past two years.
