It is reported that there is a shortage of fuel in many parts of the island since this morning.
Some fuel outlets in Colombo, Gampaha, Galle, Matara, and Matale districts have been closed since this morning and notices with the words ‘No fuel’ were displayed.
Filling station owners said they closed filling stations because they did not receive the required stocks.
A spokesman for the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation said that fuel imports were limited due to the shortage of dollars.
However, arrangements are being made to supply fuel by this afternoon, he said.
