Kithsiri Kahatapitiya, the organizer of the Bulathsinhala seat organizer of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya has passed away while receiving treatment for a Covid infection.
He had been receiving treatment at the Kotelawala Defense Faculty Hospital for about 20 days and passed away last night.
Kithsiri Kahatapitiya, a former Leader of the Opposition in the Western Provincial Council, was 60 years old at the time of his death.
He is a father of two.
The last rites will be performed at the Warakagoda Crematorium today.
