Compensations for crop damage in the Maha season will be paid during this month

The Agriculture and Agrarian Insurance Board state that the farmers who lost their crops during the Maha season will be compensated before the end of this month.

Its chairman, Premachandra Epa, said that 150,000 farmers would be compensated.

The amount allocated for this is Rs. 1,500 million, he said.

Accordingly, compensation of Rs. 40,000 per acre will be paid.

“The compensation will be paid for paddy, potato, chilies, and big onion cultivations”, said Premachandra Epa.

He also said that the compensation will also be paid for the crops that have been insured.

Compensation for plantations will be credited to farmers’ bank accounts.
