Water Supply and Drainage Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara said that the government is focusing on increasing water bill charges for water consumers above 30 units.
However, the Minister said that he had instructed the Water Supply and Drainage Board to consider giving relief for the first 15 units used to those who use 30 units.
He says there will be no change in the water bill charges for low-incomers.
At present, the Water Supply and Drainage Board receives a level of revenue that can reduce costs, the Minister said.
