Health officials have warned that the number of people infected with the Omicron strain of the Covid-19 epidemic is on the rise in the country.
So far 48 Omicron patients have been reported in the country and the majority of them have been found in Colombo, Gampaha, and Anuradhapura districts.
Specialist Dr. Malkanthi Galhena says, “The last two weeks have seen an increase in the number of infections with the Omicron variant. At present we have identified 48 patients. ”
