Greenlight from Agrarian Services commissioner for farmers

Agrarian Services Commissioner General A. H. M. L. Jayasinghe said that 725,000 hectares of paddy lands have been cultivated during the Maha season this year. Mr. Abeyratne told NewsWaveLK.

He also said that another 60,000 hectares of paddy fields are planned to be cultivated.

Paddy has already been cultivated in Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Hambantota, Puttalam and Kegalle districts.

The Commissioner General of Agrarian Services stated that 775,000 hectares of paddy was cultivated during the Maha season last year.
