The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has decided to extend the offer to allow Sri Lankans working abroad to convert their remittances into Sri Lankan Rupees by an additional 10 rupees per US dollar until January 31.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka had earlier decided to make the payment of an extra ten rupees per US dollar until the 31st of this month only.

The Central Bank also announced further concessions to promote foreign exchange remittances to Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, for a US dollar sent to Sri Lanka, the amount paid by a bank or a foreign currency exchange center is Rs. 210.
