Steps have been taken to increase school transport fares by 25% from January next year.
This was stated by the All Ceylon Inter-Provincial Student Transport Services Association.
The move comes amid rising fuel prices.
However, the union says that if the proposed budget concessions are granted soon, the percentage of fare increases could be changed.
