According to internal sources, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has decided to contest all the forthcoming elections under the ‘Compass’ banner under the name ‘Jathika Jana Balawegaya’.
The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) contested the last Presidential and General Elections from the Jathika Jana Balawegaya Party.
Meanwhile, the first National Convention of the Jathika Jana Balawegaya is scheduled to be held on the 20th at Thalawathugoda, Battaramulla.
It is reported that the executive council of the Jathika Jana Balawegaya is to be named.
According to political sources, former United National Party (UNP) and Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) strongmen as well as local politicians and businessmen of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) are also expected to participate in the event.
