A helicopter carrying 13 people, including Indian Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, has crashed near Tamil Nadu, the Indian Air Force says.

Five bodies have been found from the crash site and two others have been admitted to the hospital, Indian media said.

The Indian security forces said that two persons who were admitted to the hospital sustained severe burn injuries and a large search operation has been launched to find seven more.
