President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is scheduled to leave the country today (03) to attend the 5th Indian Ocean Conference.
The conference will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates tomorrow (04) and the day after tomorrow (05).
The theme of this year’s conference is “Environment, Economy, Epidemic”.
The conference will discuss how to address those threats as climate change grows.
Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is the former Chairman of the Indian Ocean Conference. Former UNP MP Vajira Abeywardena stated at a media briefing held at the Sirikotha party headquarters yesterday (02) that this year’s convention will be addressed by Ranil Wickremesinghe.
