Two people infected with the Omicron coronavirus have been reported from India today, health officials said.

According to the Indian Health Ministry, the two infected persons were aged 66 and 46 and had returned from a trip abroad.

The Indian government says that first and second-degree relatives of the infected have already been screened and all of them have been closely monitored.

The Indian government says the two men are not in critical condition and are being treated under medical supervision.

Despite the rapid increase in the number of cases in India in April and May this year, the situation in the country is now recovering.
