The Samagi Jana Balawegaya staged a massive protest in Colombo yesterday and health officials say such meetings at a time when the Kovid epidemic is raging are creating new strains of the Covid and spreading the virus on a large scale.
Suneth Agampodi, Professor of Community Medicine and Infectious Diseases Epidemiologist at Rajarata University, says that with such attitudes, the epidemic will certainly not end.
“Be a responsible opposition leader,” he wrote on his social media account.
