Police Special Task Force (STF) has found an Italian-made revolver that Thotalaga Chana, an underworld criminal, had given to one of his disciples to hide before fleeing the country.
The firearm was found along with Chana’s henchman during an STF raid at Depanama Pannipitiya yesterday.
The 46 year old suspect has been handed over to the Maharagama Police along with his firearm for further investigations.
Under the direct supervision of STF Commanding Officer DIG Waruna Jayasundara, on the instructions of Deputy Director (Intelligence / Special Operations) ASP D. P. U. Kodithuwakku, according to information received by the Organized Crime Unit II of STF, its OIC Inspector C.R. Paramullage carried out the raid by a team of officers.
