Veteran musician Lakshman Wijesekera passed away this afternoon (12).
As a musician, singer and actor, he won the hearts of the people.
Lakshman Wijesekera was 73 years old when he died while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Lakshman Wijesekera’s songs such as ‘Lampu Pahana’, ‘Sina Pipena’, ‘Oba Mata Tharuwaki’, ‘Depatha Depalana’ and ‘Me Prema Seema Malake’ won the hearts of many fans.
His wife is the late veteran actor Chandra Kaluarachchi, who also contributed as music director to the teledramas Wilambeetha, Dangayanta Pamanayi, Tikiri saha Ungi.
They have a daughter and a son. His daughter is Ama Wijesekera, a teledrama actress.
The body of Lakshman Wijesekera will be kept tomorrow (13) at his house in No. 140/31/5, Mount Lavinia.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Lavinia Public Cemetery on Sunday (14).
