A total of 714 people who had received both doses had died by mid-September, said Dr. Asha Samaranayake, a specialist in the Residential Respiratory Unit of the Colombo National Hospital.
She was speaking at a media briefing held at the Health Promotion Bureau today.
She points out that this was revealed in the research conducted on 11,699 Covid-infected deaths that occurred by mid-September. According to Dr. Asha Samaranayake, 6.01 percent of Covid deaths were due to both vaccines.
She added that the deaths were the deaths of non-communicable patients who were at high risk.
