President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has left the island this morning (30) to attend the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26).
The conference will be held in Scotland from tomorrow (31) to November 12 to discuss climate change and how countries plan to deal with it.
November 1 and 2 are set aside for its World Leaders Summit.
The theme of the conference, “Critical Moment in the Fight against Climate Change”, is attended by over 25,000 people from 197 countries around the world, including heads of state, government representatives, scholars, businessmen and many others.
