Concessions for pandemic hit private bus operators

The Transport Ministry has taken steps to give concessions to 20,000 private bus operators affected by the pandemic.

There are 20,000 buses in operation in provincial and inter provincial services. They have been hard hit by the pandemic. They have lost income.

The National Transport Commission has agreed to provide spare parts, tyres and other items at discounted prices.

Minister Pavitra Wanniarachchi said the government would not allow to collapse the private bus industry.
