The General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin said that the principals are being threatened by the local politicians and forced to open schools.
Mr. Stalin also said that several politicians in various parts of the country were intimidating and threatening principals to force schools to reopen on the 21st of this month.
However, he added that they will not be subjected to such intimidations and threats.
