Meegalewa Police have arrested three suspects with 530 bundles of fertilizer last night following information received regarding the sale of a stock of chemical fertilizer at a high price.
The fertilizer was brought to Meegalewa from Colombo to be distributed to farmers’ organizations, police said.
470 bags of fertilizer in a lorry and 60 bags in a tractor were taken into custody by the police.
The arrested suspects are residents of Galnewa, Maharagama and Meegalewa.
