Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta pursues business opportunities for Sri Lan in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia Yasoja Gunasekera had a virtual meeting with the management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) of South Sulawesi Province in Indonesia on 16 September 2021, a statement from the Foreign Ministry said.

At the virtual meeting, the Ambassador gave awareness on Sri Lankan trade products that can be exported to Indonesia as well as joint venture and investment opportunities in boat and shipbuilding industry, fisheries and agricultural sector. The Ambassador proposed that the Embassy will organize a business forum to connect potential partners in both countries as the next step in building cooperation.

Third Secretary (Commercial) Heshani Premathilaka, gave publicity on the forthcoming virtual boat show 2021 organized by the Ministry of Trade, Export Development Board and Boat Building Technology Improvement Institute and a notice of registering foreign suppliers by Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation Ltd.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of South Sulawesi Province in Indonesia is located in the 4th largest city in Indonesia namely Makassar. Makassar is the hub for eastern Indonesia. This province mainly exports agricultural products such as coffee, cocoa paste, fisheries product and coconut products.
