03 Sri Lankan Archers qualified for the World Archery Championship

Sri Lanka Police female Sergeant Anuradha Wijesinghe, who is representing Sri Lanka at the World Archery Championships in the United States of America, is scheduled to show off her skills tomorrow (22), the Police Media Spokesman’s Office said.

Three Sri Lankan archers have qualified for the World Archery Championships this year.

The players have left for the United States and the tournament which started yesterday (20) will continue until the 26th.

Anuradha Wijesinghe received her primary education from Hiniduma Central College, Galle and joined the police force in 2003 as a constable. In 2018, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

She has been the National Archery Champion for three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013 as well as in 2015 and 2019.

She represented Sri Lanka at the 2016 and 2019 South Asian Games and won silver medals, according to the Police Media Spokesman’s Office.
