Sputnik-V drought ends – 120,000 Vaccines arrived

120,000 doses of the Russian-made Sputnik-V vaccine were brought to the Katunayake International Airport this morning (19) to end the Sputnik vaccination crisis.

The consignment was brought by a cargo plane from the United Arab Emirates.

The consignment of doses weighing 1450 kg was brought to the Central Drug Store Complex in Colombo by the lorries equipped with refrigerated facilities of the Sri Lanka Pharmaceuticals Corporation.

The Minister of Pharmaceuticals, Supplies and Regulatory Affairs Prof. Channa Jayasumana stated that steps will be taken to provide this stock of vaccines to the people of Kandy as their second dose from tomorrow.
