The 48th session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) began in Geneva, Switzerland with a limited number of delegates and according to a hybrid system with a large number of vacant seats.
This hybrid session began with an online Live Session to meet the council and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said in her opening remarks that her statement on Sri Lanka is on the agenda of this session as well.
President of the 48th Session of the Human Rights Council, Nazhat S. Khan initiated the session.
The session, which runs until October 8, will also focus on Sri Lanka’s stability and current progress on human rights allegations.
